Coming Up Roses

How perfectly sweet is this top from Anthropologie? I saw it in the most recent mailer and fell in love! And to make it even more perfect, check out the back!
Paired with wide leg jeans and stacked wooden heels, this seems like the perfect late afternoon outfit, no?

A Soft Place to Land

As I have mentioned before I am moving the beginning of July and am super excited to re-decorate my room. Isn't that the best (and maybe only good) part of moving? I have decided on a gray/white/pink color scheme, with my accent wall to be painted in gray, white bedding, and pink accents (at least that's my plan at this moment).  I have white bedding now but the more I look at it the more I think its too dull...its just white, no design, no pleats, no bows. Here are a few bed-sets I really like along with some other bedding accents and would LOVE some help deciding which to go with. (Or any other suggestions you may have)

Can you tell I really need help?

Update: I've gone and looked at a few of these and think I really like the Pottery Barn one (the first)...I guess I just want a big, fluffy bed and an overly girly (and glittery) room

Glitter Guide

Glitter Girl
I know I'm not the only one in blog-space to be ecstatic about the launch of The Glitter Guide! I mean, a website full of fashion, trends, and over-all girly-ness, hello! Check it out and become as obsessed as I am.

I am also obsessed with the yellow "live each day like it's your birthday" poster in the first photo. Any ideas on where to get it? I've searched for a few hours already...

To Wear or Not To Wear...

Today's post is regarding this necklace...
IMAG0005.jpg
...that I received from an ex boyfriend when I graduated from college in 2007. We split up in 2008 and it has been living in my dresser ever since. As I am cleaning like a mad-woman preparing to move in a few weeks I have reached a major impasse-do I sell the necklace, which I really do like, or do I keep it. In all honesty I haven't worn it since we split up but it is so unique I can't help but wonder if selling it is a mistake. So, I turn to you ladies...would you (and do you) wear jewelry an ex gave you? Any advice?
IMAG0003.jpg
BTW: I have placed it on my own chain with the thought that makes it more "mine"...is that nuts? And, in case you want to know, its diamond and sapphire.

Update: I'm sorry the photos are a little fuzzy, they looked great when I put the post together but I can't seem to figure out why they aren't so hot now...

A Friendly Escape

courteney-cox-home-ed-0711-13.jpg
Anyone who knows me knows that I love (read: obsessed) with the show Friends. And while I love all the characters and have the utmost respect for the actors (I mean, negotiating as a team, how amazingly wonderful is that?) I have always had a fondness for Courtney Cox. The July/August edition of Elle Decor features Cox's Malibu home and I am IN LOVE! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot by Simon Upton. Check out the site or, if you're like me, buy the glossy mag itself...there is something so amazing about holding a real live magazine.

Travel Time

Tumblr_le1zupj9xd1qbcs4so1_400_large
I love to travel, that probably goes without saying. And lately I've been having the travel itch more than I ever have before! Since I'm getting ready to move and sadly have to keep working (the cats refuse to get jobs so it falls on me to provide food and shelter) I'm currently getting my travel fix in the form of internet searches. Here are the top 5 places I'm dying to jet off to, if even its in my dreams.
image of white washed houses and blue domes
Greece
Every time I see a photo of the white houses with blue roofs I get an immediate sense of calm and tranquility that I can't explain. I just imagine sitting on the beach in the sun (with lots of sunscreen and a hat of course) and not having a care in the world.
Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal
One of my professors at Oxford grew up in India (his father worked for the British government) and told me the most amazing stories of the country, people, and, of course, the Taj Mahal. While I studied the fall of the British Empire with a concentration in India with him, he would tell me week after week that I MUST see the Taj Mahal at least once in my life. According to him (and numerous websites I have come to find) the marble of the palace changes color depending on the time of day. It can go from blinding white to deep red to sapphire blue and back to pale yellow all within the course of one day. If that's not enough to enchant you, I don't know what it.
Egypt
I have been very interested (ie: slightly obsessed) with Egypt for a very, very long time. I even considered majoring in history so I could become an Egyptologist one day and explore the pyramids.  And, no surprise, the only part of the British Museum I was able to see (in 3 hours) was the Egypt wing, and I didn't even see all of that. Now I understand Egypt is not the safest place to travel to right now but trust me, when the time is right I'll be heading there. And who knows, maybe I'll discover something fantastic (or at least ride a camel)
Alaska
I have a very very dear friend who moved to Alaska last January and I have yet to see her. I really want to go and see the northern lights but there are a few problems with that. For one, there is no guarantee I'd see them in the winter and for another its freaking COLD in Alaska in the winter (like -30 degrees, no joke).  I'm not sure if I'll get up there in the winter to see her but I'm hoping to get to Alaska soon.
Tuscany
Anyone who has seen "Under the Tuscan Sun" or "Letters to Juliet" must have fallen in love with the Italian Countryside and I am no exception. My dream vacation, above all the others on this list, is to take 2 weeks, rent a car, and just drive through Tuscany drinking wine and meeting people. And if it takes longer than 2 weeks that's okay, I'm flexible.

So how about it? Anyone else needing a vacation, even if its just an hour looking at photos online? If you could jet off tomorrow, where would you go?

This made me laugh when I saw it. Hoping you are all having a hair day that is worthy of Disney. XOXO
