7 Places

My dear friend Stacey at The Bohemian Chick posted her top 7 places in the world she loves more than any others and I found it to be so inspiring that I thought I'd share my list too (in no particular order).

Oxford, England
I called this beautiful and historic city for 5 months in 2005 and am looking for a reason I "must" return

London, England
I don't think a place could get any more perfect. This museums are gratis (hello U.S....work on this) and the people are fantastic. There is history and culture every where you turn. (can you tell I'm in love?)

Portland, Oregon (USA)
I was born in this amazing city and lived there until I was 10. It is such a perfect balance of hip, trend-setter area and family friendliness. Not to mention the weather is great.

Paris, France
I spent Christmas with my family in Paris in 2005 and let me tell you, this city does not disappoint. I only wish I had more time to explore...maybe next year I can return.

Rome, Italy
If there is a more romantic city in the world I would love to see it. Rome is the perfect mix of historic and modern, you'll see a Starbucks next door to the Coliseum. I love it!

Nieuwenstein Castle, Munich, Germany
This is the castle that inspired Walt Disney and his iconic princess castles and taking a day trip from Austria to Germany to see it was most definitely worth it. Nestled back in the the German Alps the castle is beautiful and, if you time your trip right, you can stop by Oktoberfest on your way.

Vatican City
Despite being one of the smallest independent states in the world (just over 800 inhabitants) the Vatican is warm, friendly, and open to everyone, Catholic or not (just don't try to take a photo of the Swiss Guard). Boasting one of the most amazing antiquity collections on earth along with the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican has something for everyone, make sure to leave enough time to soak it all in.

  1. I love that our lists are so similar :) And I'm so jealous that you got to go to that awesome castle in Germany! That's definitely on my list of "must visit" places!
